First of all, you need to know your material well. You need to know it so well that you could get away with not having any notes at all. This will give you confidence especially if you would have otherwise blanked out and got nervous.
Have a passion for the topic that you are speaking about. Many times when not caring about what you are saying, it's very easy to become overly concerned about what others are thinking about. When you really want to present the material, these other thoughts become less important.
Get rid of nervous ticks that you have. These are little things that you do when you are nervous and have anxiety. It might be swaying or an inflection in your voice. These things are distracting to others while you speak with them. If gone, you won't have to worry about these so much.
In other parts of your life you need to let go of having to impress people. Don't worry so much about what others think of you. Much of the anxiety that you have from public speaking has to do with this concept alone. If you care less about what others think, you will do a better job speaking as you won't be distracted by this so much
You need to just do more public speaking in order for the fear to start to go away. It doesn't sound like helpful advice, but it's very true. If you do this more and more, the anxiety and fear lessens and you will do a better job at it.
